Dora Pan Revisited [05 Jul 2007|08:02am]

[ mood | artistic ]

I recreated Dora Pan for the new website design I am working on. I think I may have the new design up by... the end of next week if not earlier.

Fells Point [20 Jun 2007|08:11am]

I stipped this so you could see it without going to the website, plus I added the video!
In the novel, The First Sign, we learn many things about Mercury that makes up not only her character, but also her environment. We learn in the first chapter that she was born and raised in a section of Baltimore known as Fells Point.

More about the point, plus a silent video of Shakespeare Street!Collapse )

Amazon & Archetypes [19 Jun 2007|05:13pm]

[ mood | thankful ]

I'm on! I'm on! I'm on!

I thought the price would go down on amazon, but it doesn't. Geeze. Ah well, I am now on I will link it later on the site! The used copies make me wonder... considering I pretty much know everyone who bought one. Strange.

And now on google too!!!

Also see my comparison of Mercury as a Archetypal Hero. Granted, Mercury hasn't fulfilled a large chunk of the path of a Archetypal Hero but then again her story isn't finished. Does this prelude that Mercury is going to eventually die? No. I have no answer for the outcome of Mercury's fate. You will not know her fate until the last three chapters of the last book, that is all I am going to EVER say on that. Thems the news!

First Ad [13 Jun 2007|11:23pm]

[ mood | happy ]

For those of you going to Sectus, you will get to see the
first Mercury Brightman print ad ever created, featuring Meredith's cover art!

Look for it in the program. Since I can't go, I thought I would send along a little ad.
Let me know if you go and if you see it.
It is only a quarter page, but that's pretty cool too!

More Affordable Pocket Edition [11 Jun 2007|10:00pm]

[ mood | sympathetic ]

Pocket Edition of Mercury Brightman: The First Sign

Yay! A cheaper edition of the book is finally available to the public. Granted it is physically smaller and more compact, tighter typesetting, higher page count (420) it is the same stuff. It has an new period somewhere the others do not, but that is pretty much all that changed. And now it can fit inside your pocket!

It is only $13.99, and handles the shipping costs, but you get to choose. That is as low as I could go without giving it away. :D

Paperbacks [06 Jun 2007|10:31pm]

[ mood | chipper ]

The Christening
Paperbacks arrived today and will be in the mail by lunch tomorrow. :D Her is a little series of photos of the what I like to think of as the historical signing of the first copies. :D

I suspect the Hardcovers will be here tomorrow or Friday. Thank you all for your patience! The copies look good, there are some pages where the ink didn't print all the way, like a faint word or something, sorry it appears to be about halfway in. I was about to order 25 more copies for family and promotional things, but the site is under maintenance, figures right?

Okay I am pooped. It took me two movies to sign, stamp them, box them, and tape them all. I listened to Heathers and The Little Mermaid. I picked movies I like to listen to. :D

$1.99 ebook Downloads [05 Jun 2007|10:59pm]

[ mood | working ]

I can't control the pricing on most of my items (editions of the book), but what I can do is make it easier for you as a consumer to get the content a little bit cheaper. I was able to enable downloading of the ebook for a limited time to $1.99. It is only on the hardcover edition at the moment, and I can't seem to change the paperback download price due to ISBN reasons. Okay, well I hope that helps! Thanks! It is not my favorite thing to do, and I am making it a limited time thing, and I may change the pricing 09/09/2007. So that's the news.

Oh and all the pre-orders are on their way to me! Yay!

Rev-It-Up [28 May 2007|01:19am]

[ mood | creative ]

Grassroots Idea: It might be fun, but it came to me the other day... on Friday* night everyone should go to google, yahoo, or the search engine of your choice, and type in "Mercury Brightman" (with quotation marks) then tell one friend to do the same, and tell them to tell one friend to do the same and so on, and so on. Maybe we can make this bookuu of meme's.

So rev up those search engines, people! :D
Who knows, it could become a top search like that! Good Luck!

*Adviced to wait until Midnight on June 1st (ARIZONA time), so people have something to view and buy on
Think of it as a easy to do, quiet riot. Your support will make great things happen!

The Gospel According to [21 May 2007|06:56pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Ladies and gentlemen...
Good news! We have liftoff of the spaceship Mercury Brightman! The novel proof copy came in good. The binder's creep (the middle margin of the book) is tighter then I like, but I don't know how to fix that without reformatting the whole book, so sorry about the tight binding. But that is what I get for self-publishing with a system that is Print-On-Demand and free to use.

Nonetheless, the novel has been approved for ordering. Right now I am uploading the final pages of the novel in all three editions, paperback, casewrap hardcover, jacket hard cover. Once that is completed I will order all the pre-order books and convert the ordering pages to signed orders only. What this means is you can order signed copies of the book from me rather than ordering straight through, or after June 2.

I sincerely apologize for the delay, but as some of you know it was not my fault. messed up my first proof really badly, and it has taken a month to get a correct proof. I am about two weeks behind schedule, thanks to their efforts to make my job harder than it needed to be. I hope not to have to depend on in the near future when I will acquire a real publisher. With any luck, I could have a good publisher by September, but it might take some help from my patrons to do this. Should you want to help in this cause, let me know.

I want to thank everyone for their patience during this new process for me. Hopefully Book 2 will go smoother. I don't know what I would have done without your loving support and care. I sincerely appreciate all that you have done, and that you will at least enjoy the story. If you don't love it or like it, my apologies. I know my book isn't for everyone, however if you don't want it you should pass it on to a library or something. Once again thank you for your patience. I will be sending you all an email when the books arrive. According to it will take 10-15 days to manufacture the books, and then I am having them shipped to me Priority Mail. I will get them out as soon as they arrive. Thanks!

F- for Google Checkouts [07 May 2007|09:00pm]

[ mood | annoyed ]

After Saturday night I will no longer be using Google Checkouts. I am just so dissatisfied with their service that it just isn't worth the aggravation. What happened? Well on the tail end of aggravation after aggravation I went to process an order and at the top of my order page it said my account was under review and payouts (money sent to my bank account so I can purchase the books) won't happen until after the review is over... how long is that going to take, what is about? I doesn't say. That being said, I will be discontinuing use of it, and I will be sending Google this letter:

Problem [28 Apr 2007|05:53pm]

[ mood | annoyed ]

Lulu, we have a problem.
So I got my book today... but not really. You see it is my cover, but it isn't my book inside it is somebody elses (The Loser's Game by Lance Nalley-- a book with cussing in it O_O). Then there is the problem of the cover art. I designed the cover art with their template, accounting for bleeds and all. It is like they shrunk the whole cover to fit, including the bleed area, so it is not centered. The bleed area is meant to be cut off and the live area fits the book cover.

What does this mean?
Well I am annoyed, for one, but number two, is I won't hear anything about it until Monday. My major concern is that the future order I indend to place, aka the pre-orders, are printed right. I will return any that are not. It may mean delays, but why would I send you something that isn't printed right. Not happy. Concerned, not happy.

Corrections & Posters [28 Apr 2007|01:48am]

[ mood | tired ]

Hey ya'll. I am not perfect, I am well aware of this. I am doing a last run-through to make sure things are right and I noticed that there were several mistakes in the chapters presented. Missing words and comma abuse in the first chapter, double sentences and weird wording in chapter two and some missing words, wrongly italics words in the third. I think I got them all.

I have updated the chapters to reflect the corrections made. I would like to apologize for those of you who had to endure my mistakes. After seeing this book for the 20th time or so, things get missed, looked over, weirdly placed... and sometimes doubled... and sometimes doubled. :D Just kidding. The thing is, this is a learning experience for me, and I am doing the best I can. I feared sharing the pages with you all, because I knew this would likely happen. I have reviewed the files and corrected what I saw. I have tired to make them as good and as perfect as I can. Thank you for your patience.
